At Johnson County Healthcare Center, our Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program provides medically supervised care to help patients improve heart and lung health, regain strength, and return to daily life with confidence.

Our program combines monitored exercise, education, and clinical support in a safe, supportive environment. Care is coordinated closely with your provider to ensure continuity, safety, and long-term success.

Who Can Benefit from Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation?

Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation may be recommended if you have experienced or are managing:

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Cystic fibrosis
  • Emphysema
  • Heart attack
  • Heart failure
  • Heart surgery (bypass or valve)
  • Heart transplant
  • Interstitial lung disease
  • Lung cancer
  • Placement of a stent or angioplasty
  • Post–COVID-19
  • Pulmonary conditions that affect breathing, endurance, or daily function
  • Recovering from pneumonia

Participation typically requires a referral from your healthcare provider. Our team is happy to assist with questions about eligibility, referrals, and insurance coverage.

Our Services

A medically supervised program designed to help patients recover after a cardiac event or procedure, improve heart health, and safely return to daily
activities.

Services and testing may include:

  • Telemetry-monitored exercise sessions
  • Resting and exercise heart rate and blood pressure monitoring
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) monitoring
  • Functional capacity assessments
  • Risk factor education and modification support
  • Coordination with your cardiology and primary care providers
  • Psychosocial support

A structured program for patients with chronic lung conditions, focused on improving breathing efficiency, endurance, and overall quality of life.

Services and testing may include:

  • Breathing and endurance assessments
  • Oxygen saturation monitoring
  • Exercise tolerance evaluations
  • Education on breathing techniques and energy conservation
  • Symptom tracking and progression monitoring
  • Counseling for tobacco cessation

Overnight Oximetry

This simple test can be done at home and helps your provider better understand how you’re breathing by measuring the oxygen level in your blood.

Exercise Stress Testing

Exercise stress testing evaluates how your heart responds to physical activity in a controlled, medically monitored setting.

Home Sleep Tests

A simple sleep test can be done at home and helps us learn more about your breathing and sleep while you rest comfortably overnight.

Six-Minute Walk Test

A simple, non-invasive test used to measure functional exercise capacity and oxygen response during activity.

Heart (Holter) Monitoring
This easy, at-home heart monitor lets us gently track your heart rhythm while you go about your normal day. Monitoring may be completed over 24, 48, or 72 hours, or for extended periods of 7, 14, or up to 30 days, depending on your provider’s recommendation.

All testing and services are provided based on provider referral and individual patient needs. Our team works closely with your healthcare provider to ensure safe, coordinated care.
